In November it is all about wine and wine tourism in Bulgaria. As wine and travel lover, I will inform you about the more interesting events and wine news.
Bulgaria can surprise you with a vast diversity of boutique wineries where you can taste wine from local grape varieties, uniqie for the country: Mavrud, Gumza, Shiroka Melnishka loza, Melnik 55, Rubin, Dimyat, Ruen, Misket etc.
All four seasons are good for wine tourism in Bulgaria but I recommend you the autum ( September), when weather is nice and fresh, wine harvest is ongoing and nature is in a variety of colours. You can combine the visit to different wineries with a photo trip.
Now for more wine news
In the last years the village of Brestovitsa, Plovdiv municipality, has become wine center of Bulgaria. Brestovitsa was given patent rights for wine capital of Bulgaria this October, so that wine tourism in the area gets boosted. Follow my video channel on Youtube and you will not miss my visits to the wineries there. I will share the wine news with you soon.
Plovdiv municipality, not only has the wine capital of Bulgaria in its area, but also this year for first time it issued map for support of wine tourism and promotion of the wineries in the area. It is distributed free of charge in the listed sites and the travel sites in the city. For the second edition there will be more interest and we expect that the map will be updated with more wineries.
As a wine lover, on 8 November I will take part in a wine tour (event: ) for the European day of wine tourism and together with nvision travel I will visit Medi Valley winery, close to the Rila monastery. In Sofia you can find wines of the winery in the only shop solely for Bulgarian wine: Vino Orenda Wine Shop.
We can get to know all wine producers in Bulgaria during the biggest Forum for Bulgarian wine DivinoTaste, which will be held for 5th time on 20 – 22 November 2015 at the National palace of culture, hall 3 and hall 10 in Sofia. During the Forum over 450 wines will be presented, we will have a chance to learn more about the wineries, we’ll taste the new wines and will get to know wine news about the new wine harvest and will choose which wineries to include in the wine tours in 2016.
The more curious of you can join the master classes and learn more about the wines from the neighbouring countries of Bulgaria, plus will enjoy dinner, prepared by chef Emil Minev.
